LAN Support provides IT support for companies in Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire. This month they recognised that their relationship with Bells solicitors in Farnham had reached the 10 year mark.
Bells solicitors are one of the oldest solicitors firms in the country, having provided legal advice in the Farnham area and beyond for 300 years.

Dermot Burke, managing partner at Bells explains their relationship with LAN Support “The security and integrity of our data and clients information is paramount for Bells solicitors as well as protecting our reputation. Of equal importance is the continuity of service to our IT infrastructure-LAN give us security and continuity to both functions and have provided uninterrupted support to Bells for over 10 years-this in itself it testament to their professionalism. We will be continuing with this successful relationship and have no hesitation in recommending LAN Support to our Solicitor colleagues in other practices.”
Stephen Johnson explained the link to Phyllis Tuckwell “Every birthday should be celebrated, so I asked Kathy Parish, Bells office manager, if they supported a local charity. Kathy immediately put forward the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice.”
Kathy explained why Bells had chosen the local Farnham Hospice “We have long recognised what fantastic support Phyllis Tuckwell do for the terminally ill and many people do not realise they only receive a 16% grant from the NHS-everything else has to be raised through charitable donations”
Pictured at the Hospice are Stephen Johnson MD of LAN Support, Kathy Parish Office Manager Bells Solicitors, and Andrew Cox, Head of Corporate Fund raising at Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice.
Andrew was delighted with the gift of the new laptop “This is a fantastic gift for us; every day is a challenge to reach our daily target of £10,000 to keep the hospice going. We are fortunate to have the support of many local companies and individuals, but our future is never guaranteed.”
Andrew explained more about the Hospices services “We are a hospice for the terminally ill and support a population locally of 600,000 in Surrey and Hants incl Guildford, Godalming Farnham, Camberley, Fleet, Aldershot and Cranleigh. We aim to support 100 patients a day, not only in the 18 beds for our most seriously ill patients, but on the phone, on day care, home visits and much more. We provide in-house palliative care as well as home care, aromatherapy, support advice for patients, carers and family including bereavement counselling etc. We add life to days, not days to life.”
With over 600 volunteers from drivers, gardeners, shop assistants, receptionists, therapists, and even accountants the Hospice is a testament to the generosity of the local community despite the competition for our donations from other worthwhile causes.
Stephen Johnson from LAN concluded “We were proud of the opportunity to support Phyllis Tuckwell if only in a modest way. To visit the hospice and see the excellent and supportive work they do is a humbling but uplifting experience. Cancer touches most families in our lives and it is the support our hospices give that help this experience to be both manageable and dignified.”
