Green Policy

It is one of our aims that we operate our business in as environmentally friendly manner as possible. To this end we are proud that we have taken the following steps and continue to find alternative ways to reduce our environmental foot print.

• All of our incoming packaging materials are used where possible or recycled, including cardboard boxes, polystyrene beads, air bags, paper etc.
• Virtually all of our outgoing packaging materials (cardboard boxes, polystyrene beads, air bags, paper etc) are reused items, or are made with a high proportion of recycled material.
• We minimise our use of paper internally by electronically scanning documents for multiple reproduction. Clients can opt to receive all invoices and statements electronically. Moving information electronically is also much more energy and carbon efficient than physically sending hard copy.
• We have reduced and continue to reduce the amount of landfill waste produced by staff by banning plastic water cups, encouraging paper recycling and by turning of electrical devices such as mobile phone charges.
• Where possible we are choosing to source our materials from suppliers who operate in an environmentally friendly manner and who are geographically local to us to reduce delivery miles.
• LAN Support uses a Virtualized VMware infrastructure internally which has reduced our server datacenter hardware purchases by 75%. This means less landfill in future years and a massive 75% energy saving.
• Whenever possible we always opt to use public transport.
• Our consumption of fuel and energy is closely monitored and we take care that it is not wasted through inefficiency or casualness.
• Our vehicles have been chosen with fuel efficiency in mind and their fuel consumption is closely monitored. All our vehicles are regularly maintained and inspection checked which means to greater efficiency on fuel consumption.
